A Window to Your Heart

Walking on thin glass; a window pane
with the snow falling, your hands pressed
on the other side, though with every
footfall the glass begans to crack.

   "My face hovers over every footstep
    as my fingers retrace the meandering
    cracks, supporting your every move."

Journey; distance grows longer with age,
the more I travel through these fallacies,
hoping of a dream that'll never happen;
how long before it all falls apart.

   "I'll be waiting for you in the end,
    believing in you, having faith as if
    I was right behind you, urging you forth."
   
Falling; the waters swirl as it envelops
my aching heart, letting it drift downward
to it's icy fathoms where darkness signals
despair without a shred of hope.

   "I'll save you from despair, let my warmth
    consume your very soul, setting your hearts
    desire, with my waking kiss.

    Take my hand in yours, I won't let you
    do it alone in this place, for I believe
    I shouldn't be behind the glass,
    but become the beacon that guides you."
